Mac Manual Install: ------------------- (Please note that I do not own a Mac, and thus cannot provide ANY technical support beyond what is written here. You're going to have to figure out how to access the server given the tools and information I have provided. If you're stuck, find another Mac user and consult them, and/or post on the forums. Good luck.) 1a) Download one of the following files (supposedly only work under Mac OSX): - fire.prohosting.com/rolan...Editor.sit - fire.prohosting.com/rolan...bnetse.dmg 1b) Run the appropriate file(s). ---OR--- 2) Download the following file: - fire.prohosting.com/rolan..._3.sea.bin 2b) Follow the instructions in the following guide (instructions also available at the end of this file; see "Mac Gateway Editing"): - fire.prohosting.com/rolan...diting.txt 3) Enter the following information: - Servername: DSF - Hostname: 66.189.6.173 - Zone: 6 4) Start your client of choice. 5) Use the Change Gateway button to select the DSF Gateway. 6) Connect to the DSF Gateway using the Battle.Net button / selection. 7) If necessary, create a new account. Please note that you do NOT need to have this account online for 2 hours within 48 hours in order for it to be permanent. Accounts are NOT deleted automatically, ever. 9) Play as normal, and enjoy! Mac Gateway Editing - Jim Gould: -------------------------------- Quick D2 Gateway Alterations, Mac OS 9.x What you need: ResEdit. I used version 2.1.3. What you do: Make a copy of your Diablo II Preferences file. If this doesn't work, delete the modified file and rename your copy to restore the original file. Open the System Folder:Preferences should see a binary resource group, HKEY. Open that. Look for the line "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Battle.net\Configuration\Diablo II Battle.net gateways". Open it. Note: There is a similar line that refers to "Battle.net gateways" without the "Diablo II". Leave it alone. The opened HKEY should look like bunch of hex numbers on the left and a list of gateways on the right. Select a null (a down-caret -> ?) copy it to the Clipboard. It will come in handy. Place your insertion point by clicking immediately after the down-caret after the word "Europe". Then type <IP Address><null><zone><null><gateway name><null>. You can get the nulls by pasting the null character you copied earlier. To enter the DSF information, you would type: 66.189.6.173(paste a null)6(paste a null)DSF(paste a null) You should wind up with the text column looking like: ????1002?01?uswest ... Europe?66.189.6.173?6?DSF?? Save the file ("Save" under the FIle menu). Quit ResEdit. You're done. How I got there: I noticed that the supplied gateway editor was for StarCraft and only modified the StarCraft preference file. I reasoned that if I made the same changes to the D2 preferences file, I'd get a reasonable result, so I copied the changes from the StarCraft preferences file to the D2 preferences file, and it worked. In retrospect, it would have been easier just to type in the changes, as described above. Now if only I could get StarCraft to work on the DSF. DSF Server.
|
Well, for the time being, it's back.
However, please note the following: 1) It only supports Diablo (including mods), Starcraft, Starcraft: Brood War, Warcraft II: Battle.Net Edition, and Diablo II Open. Diablo II Closed is not yet supported, because I can't get it to work. :P I'll let you know if anything changes (and yes, I'm trying 1.10 Realms). 2) I do not have a Registry file for Windows 9X & Me users. Someone here will have to kindly create one and then send it to me. 3) Some of the above links WILL be broken until I can upload the appropriate files. That's all for now. Roland *The Gunslinger*

Cannot access DSF realm
|
When I try to add open the winNT I get a message that its contents cannot be placed in the registry because not in registry script. I think Draconis referenced the same issue months ago. I also cant get the gateway editor to work either when trying to install manually. This is most confusing because I had no problems when you first activated the realm some months ago. However, at some point (I can no longer remember why) I reinstalled the default gateways and now no DSF.
